Hawkesbury City Council

Construction at the Hawkesbury City Council waste-to-resource trial is progressing well, with key milestones already achieved. The 12-month trial, scheduled to begin in early 2026, will process up to 20 tonnes of food and organic waste per day. Using ARC’s Black Soldier Fly technology, the organic waste will be converted into high-value products, including fertiliser, biofuel, and livestock feed.

The trial aims to demonstrate a scalable alternative to traditional FOGO systems, reduce methane emissions from landfill, and create new economic opportunities from organic waste streams. Photos from the site showcase the construction progress and highlight the innovative infrastructure being established for this industry-first initiative.
